Setting higher standards
At Ropetex and Powertex, actions speak louder than words. We focus on responsible sourcing and waste reduction as part of our broader efforts to minimize environmental impact. Our use of r-PET materials is one example of how we are exploring lower-impact alternatives. We aim to integrate sustainability considerations across our full product range. We follow a structured approach to uphold our Code of Conduct, including regular on-site audits and supplier training. These initiatives support our goal of contributing to a more responsible and forward-looking lifting industry.
What does sustainability mean in practice at Ropetex and Powertex
- Innovative r-PET products: Selected items in our range are made using recycled polyester, helping to reduce the use of virgin materials and associated CO₂ emissions.
- Ethical sourcing: We work to align our supply chain with the principles outlined in our Supplier Code of Conduct, promoting fair and ethical practices.
- Waste reduction: We aim to minimize waste through digital manuals, optimized packaging, and ongoing efficiency improvements.
- Supplier Code of Conduct compliance: Our structured approach includes regular on-site audits and collaboration with suppliers to help meet our compliance standards.
Committed to improve
Fact-based communication
We believe in communicating sustainability based on facts, not greenwashing. All our more sustainable products come with sustainability fact sheets that clearly outline their environmental benefits and improvements. Here's the sustainability factsheet for our PRS r-PET Round Slings as an example.
Supplier Code of Conduct compliance audits
As part of our sustainability efforts, we carry out regular audits to assess compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct, focusing on both environmental and social aspects. These audits include document reviews, in-depth on-site inspections, and direct dialogue with employees and management. Our auditors evaluate working conditions such as wages, health and safety, rest breaks, facilities, and working hours, alongside environmental practices within the production process.
Improving performance through training & education
Our local teams offer guidance on sustainability and working conditions, helping production partners meet our standards. This collaborative approach drives results—93% of producers improve their performance in follow-up audits.
Working together for a lower CO2 footprint
We’re committed to enhancing the sustainability of our products throughout their lifecycle. By collaborating with innovative producers, we focus on responsible sourcing, efficient use of materials, and products that are easy to repair. Our goal is to extend product lifespans, reduce the need for frequent replacements, and make decisions that contribute to lowering our CO₂ footprint. Through these efforts, we are steadily working towards a more sustainable future.
