Equipment and competence supplier of fall protection for NCC’s emergency preparedness training!
Training in the use of fall protection harnesses and evacuation of employees or tower crane operators in the event of injury or illness was a key focus during a recent emergency preparedness exercise organized by Avonova Helse in cooperation with NCC, Kranproffen and Certex Norge AS.
The exercise took place at the project Askøy Concrete Bridges – Hilleren, Hauglandshella, and lasted the entire day.
The day was structured into four main parts. The first part covered information about the exercise, NCC’s emergency preparedness system and important aspects of crane use. The second part involved training in lowering personnel from a basket using a tower crane. The third part consisted of a practical exercise, including the use of a dummy, to perform an emergency lowering of a person from the crane. The final part of the day was dedicated to summarizing and reflecting on what had been learned and how improvements could be made.
The main objective of the exercise was to safeguard employees by providing learning and mastery through practical training and drills.
Certex Norge AS’s representative, Anders Øye, contributed his expertise in fall protection, in addition to providing the necessary equipment to carry out the exercise safely and securely.
Here is a statement about Certex from the HSE Manager at NCC:
NCC Infrastructure in the West has in recent years used Certex as its supplier of lifting accessories and fall protection equipment.
As a contractor, we need good partners who can assist us with training and who know our industry. We also need a supplier who can deliver the right equipment at short notice.
Through Certex we get the help we need. Items that are not in stock in Bergen are quickly delivered from the central warehouse in Eastern Norway.
In my everyday work as HSE Manager, it is good to have a solid sparring partner at Certex when questions and challenges arise.
Over the past year, Certex has held 5–6 courses for us, and we are now starting to refresh some of this knowledge by conducting rescue drills.
It is reassuring to have Anders on the team so that we can carry out the exercises within safe parameters.
Certex also provides inspection of equipment and supplies documentation to us in the same systems that we use. This also makes the cooperation much easier.
