Aspire Range™ r-Pet Products
Powertex, our renowned brand owned by Axel Johnson International – Lifting Solutions Group, is proud to announce the launch of three groundbreaking products made entirely from recycled polyester (r-PET). These new additions to the product line aim to offer a more sustainable choice without compromising on quality or safety, revolutionizing the lifting industry.
Traditionally, Powertex’s PRS round sling, PWE webbing sling and Trucker lashing have been manufactured using virgin polyester. However, Powertex is proud to pioneer the introduction of textile products and lashings made from recycled polyester (r-PET) material. By using recycled PET bottles as raw material, the carbon footprint associated with the production of these essential lifting products is effectively reduced.
To accurately quantify the reduction in climate impact, Powertex collaborated with a reputable third-party consultant to conduct a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) using a “cradle-to-gate” approach (in accordance with ISO 14067). The results are remarkable, showing an estimated 75% reduction in CO₂e emissions for slings, 70% for webbing slings, and 42% for lashings compared to their traditional polyester counterparts.
Starting in July, the new products will be available through the Lifting Solutions Group’s European companies, including Certex, Mennens, Traction Levage, Cables Y Eslingas, Lifting Gear UK, and Lifting Gear and Safety.
Due to the demonstrated sustainability improvements, the products are included in the recently launched Aspire Range™ from Lifting Solutions Group. Aspire Range™ represents Axel Johnson International – Lifting Solutions Group’s commitment to providing the market with a fact-based, more sustainable choice. Lifting Solutions Group has carefully curated this selection to make it easier for customers to make informed decisions aligned with their sustainability goals.
